The Flowing Hair design

The Flowing Hair design was the first-ever design used on circulating coins struck by the U.S. Mint. It first appeared on the Large Cent in 1793, then the Half Dime from 1794 to 1795, the Half Dollar from 1794 to 1795, and the Dollar from 1794 to 1795. Mocked by the public for Liberty's wide eyes and wild hair, this design has two variations, both of which did not last for more than two years.
