Dollars

Status: Current Denomination
Years: 1794-1804, 1836-1904, 1921-1928, 1934-1935, 1971-Present
Though not among the first U.S. coins to be minted, the Dollar was designated a main denomination. Though most non-numismatists would claim that the U.S. Mint no longer creates Dollars, this couldn't be farther from the truth. Dollar Designs include Flowing Hair, Draped Bust, Seated Liberty, Trade, Morgan, Peace, Eisenhower Head, Susan B. Anthony Head, Sacagawea Head, the Presidential Dollars, and the Native American Dollars, with your occasional Gold Dollar from 1849-1889.
