Among the three first U.S. denominations to be struck in silver, the Half Dollar has been minted continuously for 216 years, though none have been made for circulation since 2002. There have been 8 Half Dollar types so far: Flowing Hair, Draped Bust, Capped Bust, Seated Liberty, Barber, Walking Liberty, Franklin Head (Yes, there was a Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar), and lastly, Kennedy Head.
